The 90's are All That

One of the greatest weeks on campus is winter week and this years theme for winter week is one that myself and many other students requested: Made in the 90’s Week. Winter Week happens once a fall semester towards the end near finals to give students one last hooray. Doing this week there are the most programs thrown in one set them. Since this year in Made in the 90’s theme most of the programs have focused on things from our childhood.
Early this week there was Double Dare trivia with people getting slimed, build a bear stuff animals, and even boy band karaoke. One of the programs that they hosted today in the Last Chapter Pub was TV shows and lattes. This is when they put on four hours of shows like Rugrats, Rocko’s Modern Life, Spongebob Squarepants, and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Not only were there those classic shows there were even hot chocolates, and coffee to go with it.

When they started to play the shows everyone in the Last Chapter Pub got quiet and started to stare at the screen with wide eyes expressions. I was so happy to see my favorite shows again and sit with friends while we tried to de-stress about school.

The Popcorn Listener

One of my jobs on campus is bartender at The Last Chapter Pub. The Pub is a great place to hang out with friends and get free sodas and free snacks. For snacks we usually have, party mix, cheese balls, pretzels (regular and peanut butter filled), animal crackers (plan and chocolate) and we even make popcorn.
I HATE POPCORN.
I hate everything about it. How it smells, how it taste, how it sounds when it pops, and even how it gets suck in your teeth. So when the only snack that the Pub had today was popcorn I was not happy. This meant that I had to make some.
So I put the popcorn in the kettle and start to let it pop. The problem with that the popcorn does not all fall out of the kettle so you have to pay attention and listen. Then you must turn it off and dump the popcorn to the bottom of the machine.
For any normal person this would be easy, but of course for me it is difficult. I stand next to the machine and listen to it. When it starts to slow down is when I start to worry because of it starts for just one second to late it will be burnt.

“I’m the Popcorn Listener.” I say to my friends how are at the Pub for me. The all just give me a weird look. But hey I could be the popcorn listener because it ended out coming out perfect.

I've Been Poisoned!

Last week was Thanksgiving and almost every student went home to celebrate with family. I was supposed to stay here at SNHU because my parents do not think their vegetarian daughter should come home to celebrate a turkey that I am not going to eat. So after accepting that I was not going to go home three people then offered me a ride home and back for the break. (I took Luke’s offer because I am dating him)
When I was home I was so happy to see family and friends. For Thanksgiving itself my family went over to my aunt’s house so we can see the rest of my relatives. It was Saturday though when it hit me- food poisoning. I was sick the whole day and could not even sit up straight without feeling nauseous. It wasn't just me too. It was my dad and four five other relatives too. Luckily, I was much better my Sunday. I was so grateful to be feeling better because I knew that a three and a half hour car ride back with Luck wasn't going to be fun.

Once I got back on campus though I passed out and I am much happier to be back here because I have never had any food problems from the dinning center.
